so much for waking us, thanks for joining us i'm kristen sze. >>> i'm eric thomas. developing news from san carlos. firefighters are mopping up and looking for the cause of a huge warehouse fire. katie marzullo is on the scene. >> reporter: that business is the 24 hour fitness gym. there was no damage inside. the fire was next door at the restaurant supply. 12:30 firefighters got the call. they arrived to find fire inside. the catch was the only way in and out usually the cause with an industrial area like this the front door was the only way in and out. there was so much stuff inside it made the fire stubborn and fighting it dangerous for firefighters. >> with just the normal stacking material in some buildings there's always the possibility of falling over then compromised by fire it -- we have to be aware of the fact that our firefighters could be injured. thankfully none were injured. >> reporter: the deputy chief tells me by law they have to have an extra three-man crew outside in case firefighters need to be rescued. they doubled that crew to six. they have a lot of cleanup,

captioned by closed captioning services, inc. >>> good morning i'm eric thomas. >>> and i'm katie marzullo. kristen and cheryl are off today. >>> this weekend the san mateo bridge will be closed all weekend for seismic retrofit work. kira klapper is live at the hayward toll where part of the closure is getting underway. >> reporter: the california highway patrol is just right now beginning a closure of the westbound fast lane here on the san mateo bridge. the entire bridge all lanes both directions, will be closed beginning 10 tonight. traffic is flowing smoothly on the san mateo bridge now. later today that won't be the case. the bridge closes this weekend for a three million dollar project to replace a temporary fix made two years ago. in october 2010, inspectors found a cracked steel beam under the bridge one of a series of wish-bone shaped beams connected to concrete girders that support bridge. at the time steel plates were secured above and below the failed beam. >> we designed a new system for where the tressel meets the incline on the bridge. what we're putting this is 12

captioned by closed captioning services, inc. . >> good morning i'm eric thomas. >>> and i'm katie marzullo. a manhunt is underway police are looking for suspects who shot at police officers this morning. terry mcsweeney is live at the scene 23rd and bryant. >> reporter: this where the story came to conclusion where police were able to find the suspect and make an arrest. there are possibly one or two more suspects still out there. take a look at video. first thing is a person being taken into custody. here's what police are saying, there were three possibly three people in a moving vehicle opened fire at a police officer. the officer moved around the suspect vehicle to avoid being shot and was not shot. nobody was shot at the end of this. the vehicle with the suspect or suspects in it took off, officer followed, called for back-up. one suspect was tracked down at 23rd and york. officers searching for other suspects 15 minutes ago or so they took down the crime scene tape. we also know that there was a car towed from this area with bullet holes in it. we are trying to find out how

>>> good morning. thanks for joining us i'm eric thomas. >>> and i'm kristen sze. governor brown taking action to put brakes on gas prices which again saw all-time highs over the weekend. sue thompson is in emeryville. >> reporter: good morning. still the big story here is that gas prices where we are in emeryville just under $5. governor brown now taking action to and bring these prices down. the governor wants refineries to go ahead and start producing what it calls a winter blend mix of gasoline and he want them to do that immediately. the governor says it is cheaper to produce and typically, that winter blend mix is not for sale until the end of the month. given skyrocketing prices he wants to do something immediately. this recent surge is to blame for a number of refinery problems in california, power failure in southern california and chevron fire in august. all contributing to those high prices. latest prices released from aaa this morning are just out, take a look at this, this is what has happened in the last week, if you filled up, you know it. san francisco $4.74 up 47
